The Friends of Fred Smith, Inc. exists to support the Wisconsin Concrete Park in cooperation with Price County. The mission of Friends of Fred Smith, Inc. is to preserve the Wisconsin Concrete Park and all its resources-including sculptures, landscape, and the Historic Smith Family House-and to maintain and develop it as a public, educational, and cultural facility. History of Fred Smith:In 1950, at age 65, Price County native Fred Smith began construction of what is known today as Wisconsin Concrete Park. Smith, a lumberjack, tavern owner, farmer, and dance hall musician, created over 200 figures depicting his vision of the local culture and the world. His work is considered one of America's most unique displays of folk art. The park is located a scenic 20 mile drive south of Park Falls. Open year-round 24/7, best seen during daylight hours.
