"The Crown Jewel of the North" is Wisconsin's answer to the Boundary Waters. Purchase of this vast area by the State of Wisconsin ensures that development will not mar its scenic beauty and wilderness character. Wildlife abounds. The property has the highest number of bald eagle, osprey and common loon breeding pairs in Wisconsin. In addition to the birds, deer, bear, fisher, marten, otter and other mammals are present.
